Desiccation of low-grade permanent pasture as preparation for planting an annual multispecies winter mix
Permanent pasture was low grade and therefore not sufficient to feed the sheep all year around. Hay had to be bought to feed the sheep. Growing a multispecies winter mix instead of the low-grade permanent pasture significantly increased amount of quality fodder available and eliminated the need for purchasing additional hay. Permanent pasture was desiccated with FireHawk Bioherbicide using an electrostatic sprayer.
Product can also be applied as a 500ml FireHawk /10L water spray mixture at 750- 1,000L/ha application rate in a conventional boom sprayer. FireHawk Bioherbicide delivered effective desiccation of permanent pasture and suppression of perennial fescue grasses preparing field for seed drilling of multispecies winter mix. Nonanoic Acid, its active ingredient, occurs naturally in many food crops. In addition to its desiccation performance, FireHawk is fully biodegradable, leaves no residues, and is people, livestock and environmentally friendly.
