Bell vine, Ipomoea plebeia, Fam. Convolvulaceae, is an annual, slender twinning or trailing vine, hairy reddish stems. Usually very vigorous and climbing all over other plants including canopy of trees and/or trailing across the ground.
Could invade orchards and other horticultural crops or forestry.
Native to large parts of northern and eastern Australia (i.e. north-western and northern Western Australia, the Northern Territory, Queensland and northern New South Wales). It is widespread throughout south-eastern Queensland, and relatively common in the Moreton district.
Spray FireHawk Bioherbicide Concentrate: 50 mL/L of water. Respray when regrowth occurs from roots and/or runners. May require repeated application to obtain long-term weed control.
